CadMouse buttons do not click on MAC (Universal Receiver connection)

If your CadMouse device works but does not click, please check first how you connect the device to computer. Wireless CadMouse devices are not supported with the Universal Receiver since buttons will not “click” on recent versions of Apple macOS. Instead, wireless CadMouse devices can be used over Bluetooth or a cable connection. Applies to: CadMouse Wireless, CadMouse Compact Wireless, CadMouse Pro Wireless, CadMouse Pro Wireless Left.

Note: Wireless SpaceMouse devices are not affected by this limitation and can be used with a Universal Receiver.

If you still have problem with no click issue and you are using 3DxWareMac 10.7.0 (or newer) and a CadMouse (wired, launched in 2015) or a CadMouse Wireless (launched in 2017) you will need to upgrade the device firmware to a higher version.

  • CadMouse requires firmware version 1.06 or newer
  • CadMouse Wireless requires firmware version 1.11 or newer

Instruction how to proceed with firmware update you can find here.

You can check the firmware version using the “3Dconnexion” pane (“Tools” tab) in your Mac’s “System Preferences”.

IMPORTANT: you need to connect the device with the cable to be able to update the firmware of the device.
