A program required for this install to complete could not be run.
During installation of 3DxWare, the following error may arise with the progress bar at 50% or higher:
“There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.”
This is frequently caused by a missing prerequisite for the “3Dconnexion Collage” demo application which will be removed in future versions of 3DxWare.
To confirm the issue
You will find the following lines in the installation log file named “3DxWare_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx__3DxCollage.log” located in your %TEMP% folder:

To avoid the issue
Exclude 3Dconnexion Collage from installation:
- When the installer screen appears, expand the Advance Settings section in the lower right corner of the window.
- Under the Components section, uncheck 3Dconexion Collage. Then click “Accept and install”.
