Product Compliance

3Dconnexion products comply with the laws and regulations in the countries we ship to. They are designed, tested and approved to meet the product conformity standards for Electromagnetic Compatibility, Product Safety, Environment, and other regulatory compulsory requirements, when used for their intended purpose.

As required by conformity programs, 3Dconnexion visualizes the compliance marks either on product label, packaging, or in the documents shipped with the products.

1. Electromagnetic Compatibility

Electromagnetic compatibility is the ability of electronic devices to operate as intended in proximity to other electronic devices or in the presence of electromagnetic fields. Unintentional radio frequency emissions from an electronic device and immunity of the device to radio frequency interference from other electromagnetic sources are included within electromagnetic compatibility.

CE

EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, RED Directive 2014/53/EU, LVD Directive 2014/35/EU, RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU, and WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU

European Union: The CE mark is used in the European Union to identify compliance to regulations: EMC Directive 2014/30/EU which includes both emission and immunity requirements. 3Dconnexion identifies the responsible party of products by EU address on the packaging.

EEA /EFTA: According to the agreement related to the European Economic Area, directive 2014/30/EU is also applicable in Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, and other territories where a suitable international agreement is in operation.

UKCA

The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking and certificates are used to identify product’s conformance to the United Kingdom’s UKCA certification requirements which cover Radio Equipment Law (which includes EMC and Product Safety) and Restriction of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation.

EAC 

EAC marking and declaration are used to indicate the product conformity to all technical regulations of the Eurasian Customs Union.

FCC

FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class B (sDoC)

FCC Grantee Code: 2AAHQ

United States: Emissions are regulated in the United States by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). 3Dconnexion authorizes its products to the FCC Part 15 Class B Regulations using Verification procedure for the products with unintentional radiators and using Certification procedure for the products with intentional radiators.

Created in 2013, the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM Mark) replaced both the C-Tick and A-Tick certification programs in Australia. By combining compliance requirements for telecoms equipment and EME/EMC testing, the RCM Mark provides a single, integrated approach to certification for wireless devices in Australia and New Zealand.

RCM Marking ensures the safety and performance of telecoms, electrical, and wireless devices. By placing an RCM Mark on products and equipment, manufacturers certify that their devices meet all applicable standards required for product safety and performance.

KC

KN 32, KN 35, KS X3123:2020

KCC Grantee Code: R2P, dx3

Korea: 3Dconnexion products are certified for compliance to the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) regulations. The KCC compliance mark is transitioning to the KC mark. Products are subject to both emissions and immunity standards in Korea for EMC compliance. A unique identifier code is located under the KC mark to indicate certification.

BSMI

Taiwan: 3Dconnexion products are compliant to the BSMI regulations for information technology equipment.

2. Wireless Communication

Some of 3Dconnexion’s product can operate with wireless functionality. These devices are developed, designed and tested to comply with the many wireless requirements throughout the world. This compliance ensures that these devices do not cause any harm to the wireless networks. In addition, 3Dconnexion has verified that these devices do not violate any power and frequency spectrum allocations on a country by country basis.

Besides the wireless communication compliance testing within CE (EU), FCC (US), IC (Canada), RCM (Australia and New Zealand), KC (Korea), 3Dconnexion’s products are certified by the following radio communication specific compliance marks.

MIC

Article 2 Section 1 No.19, MIC Notices No. 88, Annex 1 & 43

Japan: Radio equipment used in Japan is required to conform to the technical standards regulated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan.

NCC

Low-power Radio-frequency Devices Technical Regulations (2013) 4.10.1 and 4.10.2

Taiwan: National Communications Commission (NCC) and private Recognized Certification Bodies (RCBs) issue type approval for all telecommunications terminal equipment and low power radio devices to be imported or sold in Taiwan. Equipment must comply with Taiwan’s standards.

3. Environment

3Dconnexion takes a proactive approach to environmental product developments by assessing all national or local product related legislation and expanding the requirements to cover our entire product range on a worldwide basis if such action would positively contribute to global environment, health and safety.

RoHS

RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU

European Union: All 3Dconnexion products for sale on the European market are compliant under RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU.

China RoHS

Administrative Measure on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products, 01/07/2016.

3Dconnexion products comply with Hazardous Substance Restrictions for lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). 3Dconnexion products do not leak and cause environmental pollution.

WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU

ElektroG: 23666760

Germany: 3Dconnexion is registered with national WEEE registry (EAR) and collective scheme, and is taking direct financial and administrative responsibility for WEEE reporting, recovery and recycling of all 3Dconnexion products placed on German market.

Other Regions: In countries where 3Dconnexion is not the legally responsible party, 3Dconnexion expects the relevant local distributor to take the responsibility for meeting the national WEEE obligations.

Battery Directive 2013/56/EU

BattG: 93671379

Germany: 3Dconnexion products are compliant with Battery Directive (2013/56/eu). 3Dconnexion is registered in BattG as an obligated producer and takes direct financial and administrative responsibility for reporting and recycling of all 3Dconnexion products placed on German market.

Other Regions: In countries where 3Dconnexion is not the legally responsible party, 3Dconnexion expects the relevant local distributor to take the responsibility for meeting the national battery recycling obligations.

REACH Directive EC 1907/2006

European Union: Registration is required for substances which contain Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) above a concentration limit of 0.1% and above a total SVHC mass/volume of 1 ton per year produced or imported into the European Union (EU). Since 3Dconnexion does not import such substance and the products typically do not release chemical substance to the environment, this requirement does not currently ally to 3Dconnexion.

4. Battery Warning

Wireless 3Dconnexion products contain non-user-serviceable batteries.
Please do not attempt to change the batteries yourself. Instead, contact 3Dconnexion Technical Support for repair or replacement information.

Risk of explosion or personal injury if batteries are exposed to conducting materials, liquid, fire, or heat.
Dispose of spent or damaged device including batteries according to local laws.
