With the support of 3D Input devices from 3Dconnexion we can now seamlessly create, review, and evaluate 3D models on 3D Creator (3DEXPERIENCE platform) while also creating organic shapes and complex surfaces with unparalelled speed.
When working with our CAD tools, I want to work with user-friendly and ergonomic input devices. With 3Dconnexion devices, I can work comfortably and configure them according to my individual preferences. It does not matter whether I work in SOLIDWORKS Desktop or with our xApps, I can use them in every of these working environments.
I use the 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse Pro and CadMouse Pro for 8 hours a day, and then a few more hours when I get home. This is a must have for fast and efficient modeling. I prefer to be able to move the model with one hand and click with the other hand in a combined motion. It makes working with CAD feel so much more natural, almost as if I am manipulating the object in my hands.

Whether designing in SOLIDWORKS desktop, or the native cloud apps like xDesign, nothing makes navigating a 3D virtual model as easy as the SpaceMouse. I use the SpaceMouse Compact and the CadMouse and would be lost without them when using SOLIDWORKS. I utilise the extra buttons for shortcuts beyond my use of the mouse gestures in SOLIDWORKS. Also, in my role as Customer Development manager I often recommend their use to customers I visit, as a means to increase their productivity, as well as promote a healthy posture when sitting at a desk for hours completing their design work.
For me the standard, an absolute "must have" in the daily use of SOLIDWORKS. Freely assignable keys are just as important for me as the quick orientation of a CAD model. With the SpaceMouse Pro Wireless and CadMouse Compact Wireless I am so flexible that working on the road is fun.
