Product Compliance

3Dconnexion products comply with the laws and regulations in the countries we ship to. They are designed, tested and approved to meet the product conformity standards for Electromagnetic Compatibility, Product Safety, Environment, and other regulatory compulsory requirements, when used for their intended purpose.

As required by conformity programs, 3Dconnexion visualizes the compliance marks either on product label, packaging, or in the Important Information shipped with the products.

1. Electromagnetic Compatibility

Electromagnetic compatibility is the ability of electronic devices to operate as intended in proximity to other electronic devices or in the presence of electromagnetic fields. Unintentional radio frequency emissions from an electronic device and immunity of the device to radio frequency interference from other electromagnetic sources are included within electromagnetic compatibility.

CE, EMC Directive 2004/108/EC, standards EN 55022:2006+A1:2007 and EN 55024:1998+A1:2001+A2:2003

European Union: The CE mark is used in the European Union to identify compliance to regulations: EMC Directive 2004/108/EC which includes both emission and immunity requirements. 3Dconnexion identifies the responsible party of products by EU address on the packaging.

EEA /EFTA: According to the agreement related to the European Economic Area, directive 2004//108/EC is also applicable in Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, and other territories where a suitable international agreement is in operation.

FCC, Part 15, Class B, standards ANSI C63.4:2003 and CISPR 22:2006 + A1:2007

FCC Grantee Code: 2AAHQ

United States: Emissions are regulated in the United States by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). 3Dconnexion authorizes its products to the FCC Part 15 Class B Regulations using Verification procedure for the products with unintentional radiators and using Certification procedure for the products with intentional radiators.

Canada: In Canada all Radio apparatus, interference-causing equipment and Terminal equipments are subject to Canadian regulations.

RCM, standard: AS/NZS CISPR 22:2006, ETSI EN 301 489-1, ETSI EN 301 489-3, and ETSI EN 300 400-2

RCM mark was commenced on 1 March 2013 as a single compliance mark to consolidate three existing compliance marks (C-Tick, A-Tick and RCM).

Australia: 3Dconnexion products have been tested to FCC 47CFR Part 15 subpart C (15.227) ANSI C63.4-1992 and assessed as meeting or exceeding the requirements of AS/NZS 3548 level. They are compliant to the interference regulations in Australia.

New Zealand: Australia and New Zealand have established a mutual recognition agreement for products subject to the EMC regulations. The C-TICK mark and compliance information established in Australia are recognized in New Zealand.

VCCI, Class B / Classification code m1

Japan: 3Dconnexion’s products are registered for compliance with the Voluntary Council for Control of Interference (VCCI).

KC, standards N22 and KN24

KCC Grantee Code: R2P

Korea: 3Dconnexion products are certified for compliance to the Korea Communications Commission, (KCC) regulations. The KCC compliance mark is transitioning to the KC mark. Products are subject to both emissions and immunity standards in Korea for EMC compliance. A unique identifier code is located under the KC mark to indicate certification. Some products certificated prior to 2011, may still display the KCC mark on product label rather than the KC marking during the transition.

GOST R, standards IEC 60950-1-2005, 51318.22-99 and 51318.24-99

Russia: 3Dconnexion products are certified for compliance in Russia according to the Russian EMC and Safety regulations.

BSMI standard CNS 13438:95-06-01

Taiwan: 3Dconnexion products are compliant to the BSMI regulations for information technology equipment.

2. Wireless Communication

Some of 3Dconnexion’s product can operate with wireless functionality. These devices are developed, designed and tested to comply with the many wireless requirements throughout the world. This compliance ensures that these devices do not cause any harm to the wireless networks. In addition, 3Dconnexion has verified that these devices do not violate any power and frequency spectrum allocations on a country by country basis.

Besides the wireless communication compliance testing within CE (EU), FCC (US), IC (Canada), RCM (Australia and New Zealand), KC (Korea), 3Dconnexion’s products are certified by the following radio communication specific compliance marks.


Standard: Article 2 Section 1 No.19

Japan: Radio equipment used in Japan is required to conform to the technical standards regulated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan.


Standard: 低功率射頻電機技術規範

Taiwan: National Communications Commission (NCC) and private Recognized Certification Bodies (RCBs) issue type approval for all telecommunications terminal equipment and low power radio devices to be imported or sold in Taiwan. Equipment must comply with Taiwan’s standards.

3. Environment

3Dconnexion takes a proactive approach to environmental product developments by assessing all national or local product related legislation and expanding the requirements to cover our entire product range on a worldwide basis if such action would positively contribute to global environment, health and safety.

RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU

European Union: All 3Dconnexion products for sale on the European market after January 1st, 2013 are compliant under RoHS 2 (2011/65/EC), including continued products compliance to specific hazardous substance restriction as set forth by the original RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC) and re-enforced under RoHS 2.

China RoHS, Administrative Measure on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Products, 02/27/2006

China: 3Dconnexion products do not contain 6 restricted substances: lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenly ethers (PBDs). And 3Dconnexion products will not leak to result in environmental pollution for 10 years.

WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU

WEEE-Registration-Number: DE 23666760

Germany: 3Dconnexion is registered with national WEEE registry (EAR) and collective scheme, and is taking direct financial and administrative responsibility for WEEE reporting, recovery and recycling of all 3Dconnexion products placed on German market.

Other Regions: In countries where 3Dconnexion is not the legally responsible party, 3Dconnexion expects the relevant local distributor to take the responsibility for meeting the national WEEE obligations.

Battery Directive 2006/66/EC

Germany: 3Dconnexion products are compliant with Battery Directive (2006/66/EC). 3Dconnexion is registered in Batteriegesetz-Melderegister as an obligated producer and takes direct financial and administrative responsibility for reporting and recycling of all 3Dconnexion products placed on German market.

Other Regions: In countries where 3Dconnexion is not the legally responsible party, 3Dconnexion expects the relevant local distributor to take the responsibility for meeting the national battery recycling obligations.

REACH Directive EC 1907/2006

European Union: Registration is required for substances which contain Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) above a concentration limit of 0.1% and above a total SVHC mass/volume of 1 ton per year produced or imported into the European Union (EU). Since 3Dconnexion does not import such substance and the products typically do not release chemical substance to the environment, this requirement does not currently ally to 3Dconnexion.

5. Platform Compatibility

Windows Hardware Certification Kit – HCK

Windows Hardware Certification is a way that customers can be sure that a certain level of successful testing with Windows operating systems was done on the software, firmware, or drivers. 3Dconnexion’s products are certified and listed in Windows Certified Products List.

Apple’s Mac OS X Universal Logo License Agreement

Mac Universal logo is an essential icon for enabling customer to identify Mac-compatible hardware. 3Dconnexion’s products are compliant with the requirement of Mac Logo Guidelines.

Universal Serial Bus Revision 2.0 specification

3Dconnexion products are tested to be compliant with the design targets at the level of interfaces and mechanisms.
