What should I do if my SpaceMouse is moving without me touching the device cap?

If you notice that your SpaceMouse is moving on its own, even when you’re not touching the device cap, it may be experiencing what’s commonly referred to as « drifting. » Here’s how you can address this issue:

  1. Open the 3Dconnexion Viewer:
On Windows, you can find the 3Dconnexion Viewer by navigating to: Start > All Apps > 3Dconnexion > 3Dconnexion Viewer.
  2. Check for Unintended Movement:
Once the 3Dconnexion Viewer is open, observe if the object on your screen continues to move without any interaction with the device cap.

If you confirm that your SpaceMouse is exhibiting this drifting behavior, don’t worry. 3Dconnexion has developed a firmware update specifically designed to eliminate this issue for current SpaceMouse devices:

  1. Download the 3Dconnexion Firmware Update tool:
    https://download.3dconnexion.com/drivers/technical_support/3DxFlash_v2-15-0_r20475.exe
  2. Connect your device to the computer via cable
  3. Launch the update tool (once installed, you can find it by opening Windows Start and searching for « 3Dconnexion Firmware Update »)
  4. Select your device from the list and click « Upgrade »
