Blender 4.5: SpaceMouse® Support Gets Major Upgrade

Using a SpaceMouse in Blender is now more intuitive and enjoyable than ever before.

With the release of Blender 4.5 LTS, we’re proud to announce a suite of improvements that make navigating 3D scenes smoother, more intuitive, and more consistent across the entire application.

What’s new in Blender 4.5 for SpaceMouse users

Redesigned user interface (NDOF preferences)
Together with the Blender development community, we’ve completely reworked the NDOF (3D navigation) settings panel, making it easier to configure your SpaceMouse the way you want — with intuitive options and smarter defaults.

Intuitive navigation modes
New options allow you to easily customize navigation behavior, switching between different control modes in a simplified way.

Unified navigation across window types
Whether you’re in the 3D Viewport, Node Editor, or another window type, SpaceMouse navigation now behaves uniformly and predictably.

Bug fixes & Glitch removal
We’ve fixed a range of bugs and usability issues that previously hindered SpaceMouse performance, eliminating navigation glitches and smoothing input response.

Built on user feedback — And not stopping here

These enhancements were driven by user feedback from our amazing community of SpaceMouse users. Over the past few months, countless community members shared comments, bug reports, and feature requests which made this update possible. And we’re not stopping here.

More improvements to the SpaceMouse integration are already in development and will continue rolling out as we strive to offer Blender users the best navigation experience possible.
